As President of itValue Consulting, a firm specializing in strategy and governance, Héctor helps organizations achieve strategic goals by improving organizational commitment and alignment - faster and more sustainable than they imagine. He guides teams with diverse stakeholders clarify their direction, build commitment, and advance their strategy through effective decision making.

For example, his company has helped Fortune 1000 companies develop compelling strategies, improve their overall governance, assess the maturity of their investment portfolio management, improve governance and relationship between outsourcing service providers and clients, implement performance measurement processes, and train their staff on improving governance. Because organizations can only achieve their vision when their people work in an environment of trust and inclusion, Héctor also works with partners to help managers lead virtual, global, diverse, and multicultural teams.

His 20-year corporate background includes serving as a US Air Force Captain, a Senior Manager for Ernst & Young, and a corporate executive in Information Technology at Prudential Insurance & Financial Services and Eli Lilly.

Héctor has served as an IT Director in a variety of roles. For instance, leading strategy and IT governance for a $200M centralized IT function supporting 48,000 employees. Also, overseeing a 400-person infrastructure group providing end-user computing in 135 countries, as well as data center, systems monitoring, and disaster recovery services. His help desk and client computing groups were highlighted by Boston Consulting Group as one of the most productive within the Pharmaceutical Industry.

He has also implemented a 200-person application development center that achieved world-class performance and a $50M application support center providing offshore application maintenance services. Additionally, he implemented Program Management Office capabilities for a global $100M program and co-authored Ernst & Young’s PMO segment of its Y2K methodology.
Héctor is a dynamic speaker whose keynote presentations are often highly rated. He has served in the advisory councils for Hewlett-Packard, Unisys Corporation, Indiana University School of Informatics, and Howard University’s MIS department. Héctor is certified in Organizational Change Management and CobiT IT Governance, is a Six Sigma Green Belt, and is fluent in Spanish
