In a 5-year period nearly half of all outsourcing relationships fail. The number one cited reason is lack of investment in governance and relationship management. This course will help the buyers and service providers establish the right governance and relationship from the beginning. It will also help those already engaged in outsourcing relationships find ways to improve them and have a chance at realizing the intended business case.

 

Expected Training Results

At the end of itValue Consulting’s 2-day IT outsourcing governance workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Develop, improve, or integrate a sourcing strategy.
  • Design and implement a balanced performance measurement system.
  • Conduct an outsourcing governance relationship diagnostic.
  • Use our Decisions@Core governance framework to:
    • Develop a common overarching vision to drive buyer and service provider actions.
    • Define a joint decision making framework and identify decisions in scope.
    • Implement the right governance structure and decision rights for a single or multi-sourced outsourcing model.

  • Assess the maturity of the service provider-buyer relationship and take actions to improve it by strengthening trust, teamwork, diversity/cultural awareness, and conflict management skills.
  • Develop a high-level outsourcing governance implementation plan, including an organizational change management plan, targeted to their organization.
